The Downtown Dixon Business Association (DDBA) is proud to be a community partner that creates opportunities for downtown businesses to prosper while promoting and preserving the historic aspect of our community. In 2014, the downtown was transformed to the busiest and most prosperous one that we have seen in the past several years.
Looking forward to 2015, the DDBA is instrumental in developing the revitalization of the downtown core, working closely with local businesses, community members and the City of Dixon. We are excited to see movement in the Pardi Market lot and railroad undercrossing, both bringing synergy and commerce to our Historic Downtown. Offering small town charm, Downtown Dixon is the hub for unique businesses and community activities. We have many wonderful events planned to bring to the community for our new year as you will find in our Calendar of Events posted on our website www.downtowndixon.com.
The Dixon Christmas Tree Lighting Festival is one of our most cherished events. The DDBA is the primary financial support for this wonderful community event which takes months of planning and preparation. Other events organized by the DDBA include our Annual Wine Stroll, Beer Fest and Halloween Hunt. Also, our newest event presented for the first time in 2013 is our Downtown Dash, a 5k walk/run. Although last’s year’s event was prosperous for a first year, we will be partnering with Dixon High Track Team in 2015 in hopes to increase participation.
The majority of funds raised by the DDBA and all of it’s wonderful events goes mainly towards funding the Christmas Tree Lighting Festival, insurance to cover all of our events, improvements to the downtown’s cleanliness, aesthetics and business education. A small amount goes to promotions and supplies. Due to budget cuts, the DDBA no longer has an office assistant so all of the daily activity to run the organization is contributed through volunteer work from our board of directors – Jill Orr, President; Kathy King, Vice President; Amy Pretti, Secretary; Donny Everhart, Treasurer; Rich Mason, Director; and Sandy Sanders, Director.
We would like to thank the community for their continued support. The DDBA may be reached by visiting our office located at 165 East A Street, Suite A, by phone 678-8400 or by visiting our website www.downtowndixon.com.
There is always something happening in Downtown Dixon! We hope to see you all out and about in the upcoming year. (Life is good, join us!)
The City of Dixon is our main sponsor, our greatest fan, our daily partner. We exist because of the ongoing support and encouragement of our Local Businesses and the City of Dixon. The Downtown Dixon Business Association is very grateful for all of their help.
